Why haven't we researched 'peaceful' nuclear explosions?

It is proven that nuclear weapons are far cheaper and safer to use for underground mining then conventional explosives are or drilling, so why are we not exploring this option? It can release large pockets of trapped oil, minerals and natural gas thousands of feet underground. It can also be very effective for digging large canals and harbors with little effort, all the radiation would be trapped in the liquefied bedrock so there is no worry. The other option is to use them to start small earthquakes artificially to defuse the possibility of a larger one being a threat to urban areas.

Manic panic hair dye review?

I've always wanted vibrant red hair (I'm talking Hayley Williams style), but I haven't found any brands that look very trust worthy. I'm not interested in damaging my hair too much. (Yes, I am aware that dye is not good for your hair) I've dyed my hair red with things like loreal and all, but they were never quite the vibrant color I was looking for - and always faded to a brown with in a week or two. I found out about Manic Panic online, and got interested. How long does it last? Is it too damaging? Keep in mind my natural color is a honey blonde, which is why the red never takes very well.
