Is buying this PC game going to hurt my social/mental well-being in the end?

So I really wanted the Sims 3 Generations these past few weeks but now, staring at the order button I'm having some second thoughts. Is this going to take away from my life this summer and my schoolwork right now? I have to decide quickly since a special offer will expire tomorrow. Maybe I need to prioritize? I'll admit- I am being a bit dramatic but really what IS best?
