Failed a college course...medical school still and option?

I failed Calculus with an F but am retaking it next spring. The way it will work is whatever grade I get when I retake it will be the grade that counts. The F will still be on my transcript by the new grade will be the one affecting my GPA. I want to get an A in the course and know I can but I just had too much on my plate this semester and didn't allocate enough time for each class so I had to prioritize. Do I still have a chance to get into a med school even though I have an F that doesn't count on my transcript??
